Terms of Use

Last updated · 14 August 2026

CupRank is a real-world coffee brewing game: a table of brewers all brew the same coffee, the cups are judged blind, and the result becomes a shared public record. These terms cover the CupRank app and cuprank.app. Using either means you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use CupRank.

Who can use CupRank

You need to be 13 or older. One account per person: ratings, placements and leaderboards are a record of who brewed what, and a second account is a way of lying about that. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping the address you sign in with to yourself.

What you put into CupRank

What you type and shoot stays yours. By putting it into CupRank you give us permission to store it and to show it as part of the public record — that is the product, not a side effect. It covers:

Only put up what is yours to put up. A photograph of somebody else’s artwork, logo or face is not, and neither is a venue mark you were not given.

Acceptable use

While using CupRank, do not:

Zero tolerance

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or for abusive users on CupRank. Not a strike count, not a warning quota. Content that breaks the rule above is removed, and the account of the person who posted it is terminated. Anyone harassing another brewer loses their account, whether or not they also posted anything.

Report it to dev@cuprank.app with REPORT in the subject — the full instructions are on the support page. Every report is reviewed within 24 hours of arriving. Offending content comes down, offending accounts are terminated, and you get a reply saying what was done.

By using CupRank you agree to this, and you agree that there is no objectionable content on it that we will leave up once we know about it.

The record is permanent

A finished round is a shared record: it belongs to everyone who stood at that table, not only to the person who won it. So a result is not edited or taken down on request, and deleting your account anonymises your entries in it rather than erasing what the table decided. What comes off is your name; what stays is the round. Your side of it — your account, your email address and your photos — is deleted, as the privacy policy sets out.

Ending an account

You can delete yours at any time, in the app or on the web, and it happens immediately — the steps are on the support page.

We can suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, and we will do it without notice where somebody is being harmed. If your account is terminated for abuse, you may not open another.

CupRank is free, and does not handle money

The app is free. There is nothing to buy inside it — no subscription, no unlockable feature, no in-app purchase of any kind. If an event page shows a registration price, that is a figure its organiser typed and collects at the venue; CupRank does not process it, hold it, or refund it. Any question about an event’s fee goes to the organiser running the night.

No warranty, and what we are not liable for

CupRank is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, that a round will always finish, or that a rating is fit for any purpose beyond the game itself. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for a competition outcome you dispute, or for what another user posts.

Nothing here takes away a right you have under consumer law that cannot be signed away.

If you installed CupRank from the App Store

These terms are between you and CupRank, not between you and Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its contents and has no obligation to support it — support is ours, at dev@cuprank.app. Your licence is a non-transferable licence to use CupRank on any Apple-branded device you own or control, under Apple’s Usage Rules. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version appears here with a new date at the top. Material changes will be called out in the app. Continuing to use CupRank after that means you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, where CupRank is run from and where Season 1 is played.
